Location: Office-based/Hybrid (with travel across England and Wales)
Hours: Full Time
Salary: £39,000 – £44,000 per annum + Essential Car User Allowance

Are you passionate about creating safe environments and driving high standards in health and safety? Perthyn is seeking a Health and Safety Lead Officer to champion safety across our health and social care services. This is a pivotal role where your expertise will directly impact the well-being of both our staff and the people we support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies tailored to health and social care.

  • Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments across multiple sites.

  • Lead training sessions and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

  • Investigate incidents and liaise with regulatory bodies including the HSE.

  • Prepare environmental reports and maintain accreditation standards.

  • Collaborate across departments to integrate safety into all operations.

  • Lead the Health & Safety Consultative Committee and oversee fire safety protocols.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in health and safety management, ideally in health and social care.

  • NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent certification.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel across England and Wales with a full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience with CQC and CIW compliance.

  • Fire risk assessment in specialist housing.

  • Train the Trainer qualification or similar.

  • Knowledge of environmental and psychological safety principles.
