About Perthyn
Perthyn is a values-led, not-for-profit organisation supporting people with learning disabilities to live meaningful lives in their own homes. We are committed to person-centred support that promotes independence, choice, and belonging. Our values Integrity, Empowerment, Innovation, Accountability, Inclusivity, Belonging, Accomplishment, and Resilience are at the heart of everything we do.
About the Role
We’re looking for three compassionate and dedicated female Support Workers to join our team in Nottinghamshire. You will be supporting people across two welcoming homes, one in Retford and one in Worksop. Each home has its own character, shaped by the unique personalities and interests of the people who live there. Your role will be to empower individuals to live fulfilling lives, promote independence, and support them to actively engage in their communities.
What you’ll be Doing
You’ll be part of a team that supports people with a variety of interests, routines, and health needs. Here is a glimpse into each home:
You’ll be supporting a woman who thrives on sensory experiences, enjoys baking, listening to music, and spending time outdoors. She has a special love for butterflies, zoo visits, and relaxing picnics in the park.
She benefits from consistent, attentive support from two team members at a time to help her feel safe and empowered in her daily life. You’ll be part of a team that understands how to create a calm, engaging environment tailored to her needs. Full training and guidance will be provided to help you feel confident in supporting her, including understanding autism and mental health, and how to offer personal care with dignity and respect.
We’re looking for someone upbeat, resilient, and compassionate, someone who brings warmth and positivity to every interaction and is ready to make a meaningful difference.
At Retford, you’ll be supporting a small group of people who enjoy creative and social activities like art, cooking, charity shopping, and spending time with friends. They’re active members of their community and regularly use public transport to stay connected and independent.
Support includes helping with personal care and medication, always delivered with dignity and respect. You’ll be part of a team that encourages independence while building warm, trusting relationships. Full training will be provided to help you feel confident and equipped to offer the best support possible.
Both homes require Support Workers who are flexible, person-centred, and committed to empowering the people we support to live fulfilling lives. You will be part of a team that values inclusion, belonging, and resilience.
