About Perthyn
Perthyn is a not-for-profit organisation that supports people with learning disabilities to live meaningful lives in their own homes and communities. Our values Integrity, Empowerment, Innovation, Accountability, Inclusivity, Belonging, Accomplishment, and Resilience guide everything we do.
About the Role
We’re looking for Support Workers to join our team in South Pembrokeshire, working across a small cluster of homes located within approximately ten miles of each other in Pembroke, Pembroke Dock, and Tenby. This is a permanent role offering both full and part-time hours, with a three-week rolling rota that includes waking night shifts.
This is not a domiciliary care role you won’t be travelling between multiple houses in a single shift. Instead, you’ll be part of a consistent team supporting people in their homes, helping them to achieve their goals, and celebrating the outcomes they reach. You’ll be supporting people with a range of needs, including epilepsy and personal care, and helping them live life to the fullest. The homes are located in areas with limited public transport, so access to a vehicle is essential.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be supporting people in a truly person-centred way. Your role will include:
Encouraging independence through gardening, DIY, cooking, and cleaning
Supporting people to enjoy local outings from parks and museums to family visits in Tenby
Engaging with interests such as trains, trucks, and holidays
Providing support with personal care and epilepsy management
Helping people plan and attend medical appointments, and maintain accurate health records
Supporting people to make decisions, develop communication strategies, and take part in their home life
Promoting positive risk-taking and helping individuals set and achieve personal goals
Assisting with budgeting, liaising with professionals, and supporting financial independence
Encouraging participation in community-based activities and helping people move away from segregated routines
Supporting meaningful daytime occupations such as volunteering, education, or employment
What We Need From You
No experience required, we’ll provide full training
A warm, adaptable approach to person-centred support
Ability to work flexibly across a range of shifts
Manual or automatic driving licence essential
Commitment to empowering people to live independently and make their own choices
Willingness to support individuals in recreational activities, including holidays
Your Rewards
Joining Perthyn means becoming part of a supportive, inclusive team where your wellbeing and development truly matter. Here’s what you can look forward to:
Competitive Salary, plus a generous sleep-in allowance
Comprehensive, Person-Centred Training, tailored to help you thrive in your role

Fully Funded DBS Check, we cover the cost so you can focus on your journey
